Nature walks Trento city
Your guide to nature walks Trento city from Trento: everything you need to know to plan your visit from Hotel Accademia in the historic centre.
Trento is not only museums and historic squares. Those seeking contact with nature do not need to leave the city: some of the best walks are within minutes of the centre.
Doss Trento
The hill rising above the Lungadige San Giorgio district is reachable on foot in about twenty minutes from the centre. At the top you find the Mausoleo di Cesare Battisti and a panoramic terrace with views over the city and the Adige plain. The ascent through the park is pleasant in every season, through chestnut and pine trees. In summer it is a favourite spot for Trento residents on evening walks.
Parco delle Albere
Next to the MUSE, it is the green lung of the Quartiere delle Albere. Designed by Renzo Piano alongside the entire neighbourhood, it is a modern urban park with large lawns, an artificial lake, cycle paths and play areas. Ideal for families with children or anyone wanting a picnic a few minutes from the hotel.
The Adige riverbank
One of the most popular routes among residents. Starting from the city centre you can walk — or run or cycle — for kilometres along the banks, as far as the Parco Fluviale Adige or towards Lavis. The cycle path is separated from traffic and well maintained. At dawn or sunset, the reflection of the mountains in the Adige is particularly striking.
Tip
The combination of Doss Trento + Parco delle Albere + MUSE works well as a full half-day for families. The Doss climb tires children pleasantly, and the Parco delle Albere gives them space to run before the museum visit.
